Waiting

I often find myself Waiting. To lose something, Or someone For disaster to strike --The irreversible For the world to stop spinning.

At the dawn of my day, I wait, With my friends, I wait, At dinner With family I wait Instead of enjoying Everyday of life, I wait for otherwise

My life waits For me to enjoy it, But i, Distracted by the future Wait for it to end.

Connection to Kenyon's Poem

Both poems focus on the idea of waiting for 'otherwise'. Just as Kenyon repeats the phrase "It could have been otherwise", I repeat the phrase "I wait". In both, imagery and repetition force the reader to consider when otherwise will come.
