Summer Reading Recommendations
If you find yourself in search of a good book this summer---whether it be for lounging on the beach, a simple Sunday morning, or to distract from the stress of travelling---allow me to suggest some literature.
For the Romantic:
The Problem with Forever (Jennifer L. Armentrout)
Armentrout chronicles the reunion of two teens who were victims of a corrupt foster system and their inevitable romance. Their heart wrenching story brings readers on a turbulent emotional ride; however, the novel is not your typical romance.
For the Adventurer:
The 100 (Kass Morgan)
The 100 is a four book series set in a post-apocalyptic world where the human race has lived on their spaceship shelter from nuclear war for centuries...until 100 delinquents are sent back to earth to determine if they can return home.
For the Classy Time-traveler:
Tess of the d'Urbervilles (Thomas Hardy)
Tess of the d'Urbervilles, a classic piece of Victorian literature, tells the tale of Tess, a young girl from extraordinary circumstances, as she faces the challenges of maturity, young love, and societal pressures.
For the Learner:
The Art of Fielding (Chad Harbach)
Although centered around the sport of baseball, The Art of Fielding covers much more substantial topics as it follows the intricately connected lives of five characters each facing a unique personal struggle.
For the Realist:
Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life (Millburn & Nicodemus)
Have you ever wondered what you life would be like with less? 'The Minimalists" Joshua and Ryan tell their stories of their radical lifestyle change in Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life.
